Just a quick reminder that today is the City Pages Beer Festival. The event runs from 5-9 P.M. Lines get long and the event is generally crowded, so plan for that. It’s a beautiful day so far and likely to get better with a few beers. See you there.

weren’t we debating the intellect of city pages readers earlier?
Citysearch.
I’ve never been impressed with this – it’s a bunch of college kids trying to slam down as many ‘all you can drink’ beers as quick as possible while crammed into a 1 block stretch of the street. Nothing wrong with that – but it’s not my cup o tea.
I have a feeling other beer fests are going to slowly become what City Pages is as they get more popular. Enjoy the others while you can.
DoubleBast – I agree. It was.
Ben – I agree, but I hope we’re wrong. Gitchee Gumee is trending that way. But there still are some gems (breweries and beers) worth checking out, I think.
I think the key is to have a reasonable booth / ticket ratio. Of course, it would have to be more about beer then about money – takes a lot not to fall to that temptation.
Even the GABF is pretty much headed this way – I think the Thursday session is still pretty good but the Friday/Saturday night sessions looked like a frat party. Basically, people looking for an Oktoberfest (sans delicious chicken) instead of a Beerfest.
