TwinCities.com reports today that The Muddy Pig will be expanding into Edina Minneapolis in July with Pig & Fiddle, occupying part of the old Pearson’s Edina Family Restaurant, near 50th and France. It’s a cool old space and will suit the Pig quite well! I, for one, am looking forward to it. Now if only Edina could do something about its ban on happy hours…
Old Pearson’s Spot fit for a Muddy Pig; St. Paul restauranteurs expand into Edina, Kathie Jenkins
Thanks for reader Nancy for the tip. According to a City of Edina map, Pearson’s Edina confusingly was not in Edina, but in Minneapolis. Perhaps there’s a little history here or city lines have shifted over the decades? WHo knows?
Damn, Mark broke it at the Stone event last night, but I was too, er, lazy to post it upon returning home. FTR.
The Pig & Fiddle will be opening in Minneapolis, not Edina. Edina is across the street.
Come to think of it, you’re correct, Nancy. Edina extends a bit past France in parts of the city, but its south of 50th.
The 50th & France area continues to improve and having Muddy Pig on this side of the river is a great move for them, the western part of the Twin Cities and craft beer lovers.
Excellent! Now I won’t have to go to St Paul to enjoy the great selections of craft brews at the Muddy Pig or the Happy Gnome.
