Fitger’s Bockfest is coming soon…
It’s a sure sign of Spring, when we bring the Leiderhosen in for dry cleaning, and dreams of Sugarplums make way for those of brats and Split Rock Bock beer.
Even if you’ve never attended this “blessed” event, you still have time to mend your ways! March 15th – 17th, the Fitger’s Courtyard is the place to be! Highlights of this year’s festivities are the Blackforest torte eating contest, stein races, beer drinking competition.
As always, there will be campfires in the Courtyard, live entertainment, and of course, the legendary Split Rock Bock beer. So, grab your friends and family and come on down to the Fitger’s Courtyard. During Fitger’s Bockfest, there really IS an event for everyone!

anyone been to this? is it as good of times as bock fest at Schell? the beer drinking comp. sounds good!
I haven’t been here for close to ten years – how time flies I guess! A great event from what I recall, but nowhere near as big as Schell’s Bockfest. The first time I went Lake Superior Brewing was still in the complex, and that event also coincided with a breweriana collectors’ show, and that was a very memorable event. I hope to make it back to this one soon, I’ve been gone to long : )
Seems a bit strange that they don’t mention any Fitger’s beer at FIRGER’S Bockfest. I’d go check it out but I’ll be back there at the end of the month for the Gitchee Gumee Brewfest.
Thats what I was wondering…I emailed them and they just said they would have bock there….
the reason they don’t mention any fitger’s brewhouse beer is two fold. 1. fitgers brewhouse does not officialy run the bockfest, the liqour licence runs through bennets by the lake, a resturant in the complex. under current law a brewpub in minnesota cannot hold a special event licence 2. the beer is supplied by lake superior brewery in the form of “split rock bock”.
also a side note, the “drinking contest” is now non-alcoholic beer and is a drag. it used to be a bock drinking contest involving a glass boot that i hear was quite a hoot. there is a tart eating contest thats pretty hilarious. the event itself is fun though i’ve been there for the last four years.
