Back again this year is Lupulin Brewing’s Spud Fest Beer! Lupulin will be starting the Big Lake Spud Fest party 1 week in advance of the actual Spud Fest (starts on Thursday, June 22nd) by hosting a beer release at the brewery on Friday, June 16th.
The beer is a light, summer farmhouse style beer (5% ABV and 12 IBU). In addition to the barley, the beer is made with wheat, corn, and over 50 pounds of local Big Lake spuds. We peeled the spuds, diced them up, boiled them and then added them to the mash. The beer is a naturally hazy, crisp refreshing summer beer. It has a light fruity note from the yeast we use, and a very light bitterness for easy drinking in warm weather.
Firehouse BBQ will be returning as our Food Truck that evening from 4-9 pm plus Mark Stone LIVE at Lupulin in the taproom from 7-10 p.m.
