The Blue Door Pub will be tapping their keg of Surly Darkness on Dec. 21st, the shortest day of the year, at 11:00am. Whenever that keg is finished, they’ll tap Surly Smoke. Enjoy.

Wouldn’t that be the shortest day of the year?
I believe you’re right Matt. Unless they’re talking longest night of the year which would make more sense along with the name Darkness.
Sorry, typing too fast. Yes, shortest day…
Huh, and here I thought every day was 24 hours long. Are some longer and some shorter???
I believe we are only counting daylight hours on that particular day.
Well, sometimes they add a leap second into the mix every once in a while, like on Dec. 31st this year. Damn tidal friction!
Then there’s the matter of whether you are referring to a solar day or a sidereal day, but… that’s not interesting at all compared to Darkness on tap. Sweet!
Not that it matters, but I thought bars could not serve before noon on Sunday. Maybe that’s just a local/city law.
I think the noon serving time on Sunday is a city thing, not county or state. The only place I’ve not been served before noon on a Sunday before was Edina, a few years back.
