If you don’t have any plans for Sunday afternoon and are in a giving (working, really) mood, the City of Stillwater would love to have you help them fill sandbags. As a bit of a thank you, hometown brewery Lift Bridge is offering a free pint at Brine’s.
Join Lift Bridge Beer guys on Sunday, March 21st to help construct a critical sand bag levee as the St. Croix river continues to rise. We will meet up in the parking lot behind the River Market Co-op at Noon, where we will work with the City of Stillwater public works department to fill and place bags along the levee …wall. At 3:00pm, we will all probably need a beer, right? So, the first round is on us!! For your effort in helping our community, we’ll give you a ticket for a free Lift Bridge at Brine’s Bar, 219 Main Street South. Please RSVP so that the City can make provisions for our group.
The event is canceled due to the overwhelming turnout yesterday for sand bagging. Over 20,000 bags were filled and placed along the levee wall! Thanks if you considered coming out – we can still buy you a beer some other time; remind me 😉
Doh, we are back ‘on’ for sand bagging – confusing morning as the city does not want any ADDITIONAL volunteers showing up, but I reserved a time for our group and they still expect us there at NOON. Email: brad@liftbridgebrewery.com if you have any questions. hope you can come out and lend a hand and grab a beer with us afterwards.
