PedalPub Update: Minneapolis Park Board Permit Revoked, New St. Paul Routes…

Here’s an update from the PedalPub… of note, I took about 12 co-workers on the PedalPub for the St. Louis Park Parktacular parade and everyone had a blast. Surprised? I didn’t think so… Eric and Al are great hosts. Eric’s family even joined us for the ride at the last minute.

By the way, I’m encouraging you all to write the Minneapolis Park Board Commissioners a nice, polite note encouraging them to reinstate the PedalPub’s permit to operate on city parkways. I’m sure you all can come up with a nice way of letting them know what a great, unique service Al and Eric offer. Get to it!

Whew!  It has been a VERY busy July for the PedalPub!  You may have seen us in the St. Louis Park Parktacular parade, or the Juneteenth Parade, or the Lakeville Pan-O-Prog parade, or the Edina 4th of July parade, or on one of our many routes around the city.  Thanks to all of you who are helping make the PedalPub so successful!  Here’s our latest news:

NEW! PEDALPUB MIXERS NIGHT – WED. AUG. 8, 6-9pm
We are trying something new to give people who have a hard time getting a ‘Pub’s worth of friends together at any one time – PedalPub Mixers Night!  You can ride the PedalPub with just a few of your friends, or just by yourself, and get to meet and know some new friends on the PedalPub at the same time!  Details are available on our website:  http://www.pedalpub.com  We can only accomodate 16 people, so reserve TODAY!

MINNEAPOLIS PARK BOARD PERMIT REVOKED
It is with sadness that we must notify you that the Minneapolis Park Board has revoked our permit to operate on Minneapolis city parkways.  Their stated reasons are that “the park board already has a contract with a bike vendor”, and “the customer service department does not have the ability or authority to grant a permit to the PedalPub.”  This means our Calhoun/Lake of the Isles and St.Anthony/Stone Arch Bridge routes are once again unavailable.  We will continue to pursue these routes through all channels available to us.  We’ll keep you posted.   In the meantime, if you wish to voice your support for the PedalPub, you can contact one or more Park Board Commissioners and let them know your thoughts.  Here’s a link to the Minneapolis Park Board Commissioners website:  http://www.minneapolisparks.org/default.asp?PageID=36  Also, please send a cc: to us at info@pedalpub.com.

On a happier note, we have opened a couple of routes in Saint Paul:

NEW! ST. PAUL CATHEDRAL HILL ROUTE
The Cathedral Hill Progressive Dinner route that traverses the Selby-Dale-Grand-Summit neighborhood of Saint Paul goes past TWENTY-FIVE bars and restaurants!  Pick 3-5 of them, and we can arrange for you a Progressive Dinner, where the restaurants will have successive courses ready for you, and brought out to the PedalPub!

NEW! ST. PAUL WEST SEVENTH STREET ROUTE
The West Seventh route starts at the Glockenspiel on West Seventh Street in Saint Paul, and goes past SEVENTEEN Saint Paul restaurants and clubs!  Get some PedalPub exercise, and stop in at your favorite Saint Paul haunts!

KNOW PEOPLE IN CHICAGO, KANSAS CITY OR MADISON?
We are looking for our first expansion of the PedalPub, and we have narrowed it down to one of these three cities.  Do you know any energetic people in one of these locations who would like to help us bring the PedalPub to their town?  Send us their name and email address, and perhaps an introduction to them!  info@pedalpub.com

WANT TO BE A PEDALPUB DRIVER?

Drop us an email with your name and email address!  MUST have a valid MN Driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Thanks again for being a PedalPub supporter!

Pedalpub Update

Exciting news! The PedalPub is on it’s way to America! It was loaded
into a shipping container last Thursday and will be floating across the
Atlantic in a few days. We expect it to arrive on March 27th.. If you
wish to see some photos of the PedalPub being loaded up for shipping and
leaving the factory, check out the new GALLERY section of the PedalPub
website – http://www.PedalPub.com. If you belong to any email lists for
groups that might be interested – help us spread the word! Forward a
photo from the gallery, or our email address to them.

TRIAL RUNS – GET ON BOARD!

At the end of March we are going to be conducting some trial runs on our
set routes (Calhoun, Nicollet Mall, Stone Arch Bridge, and Nordeast) –
if you are interested in helping us out, drop us an email. NOTE: There
are hills on some of the routes that we’re not sure if the PedalPub is
capable of climbing, so you must be fit and willing to help push if
necessary!

WHO’S GOING TO BE FIRST???

We are now taking reservations for April, the big question is: Who’s
going to be the historic FIRST group to ride the PedalPub in America? If
you are interested in renting it for your group, you can click on the
“BOOK A TOUR” button at our website, or email us at INFO@PEDALPUB.COM .

PARADES AND FESTIVALS

The PedalPub will be perfect as a float in local parades and festivals –
we need your help! When is the local parade in your community or
neighborhood? What is it called? Do you know a business that would be
perfect for using the PedalPub as their float? Most parades require
permits filed months in advance, so we’re working on this NOW for this
summer and fall. Let us know! We’d love to be in your communities parade
or festival!

GRAND OPENING PARTY!

We’re going to be hosting a Grand Opening for PedalPub in America, with
free rides and all sorts of surprises! Look for our next email if you’d
like to attend!

We have started this “Friends of the PedalPub” to keep you informed of
our progress-and in an attempt to continue to tap your amazing
creativity and talent. We will probably send out an email about once
every three to four weeks or so. If you want to be REMOVED from the
list, just drop us a note and we’ll take you off. If you know anyone
else who would like to get on our list, have them send an email to:
