Barley John’s NYE Menu

Yet another option for your New Year’s Eve dining and drinking comes from the talented folks at Barley John’s.

Come join us for our annual intimate New Years Eve Dinner on the 31st! The menu is a la carte and our regular menu is open as well. Order from each course and receive a 10% discount on the entire meal. Beer and Wine suggested pairings will also be available. Final details and prices will be posted shortly. If you haven’t heard about or had time to check out a great new site aimed at you, yes YOU, Craft Beer Lover, now is the time. HopChart is a social utility that lets you journal beer, rate beer, connect with other beer fans and more.

As an extra incentive to try it out, founder Andrew Kaiser is offering up his two coveted Winterfest tickets.

Here are the details for how to get your chance at Andrew’s tickets to this sold out event:
– Eligible to US residents 21 years of age and older.
– For each 10 points earned through HopChart you will receive *1* entry into a drawing for *2* tickets to Winterfest Friday, Feb 5 2010 7:00pm.
– Points earned between December 15, 2009 through January 20, 2010 will count toward the drawing.
– A Drawing will take place January 21, 2010 time and location TBD (check back here often) to select the winner.

Smoke in a Bottle

That’s right, a plan is in the works from our boys at Surly to begin bottling Smoke, [edit: with more than 4000 bottles] ending up on liquor store shelves. I guess that new bottler is getting quite a work out!

Nic Skrade at Uptown Tattoo did the art work, Al McCarty of Blue Nile fame wrote the text, but final label approval is pending from the, er, good folks at the TTB.  So….release date TBA.

More details as they roll in…but really, what else do you need to know?!

Flat Earth Tuesday Growlers

Did you get your hands on the hottest ticket of the day? Unofficial reports say Winterfest tickets sold out in 6-8 minutes. Whether you need to drown your sorrows because you were unable to get ’em or you’d like to celebrate, stop on over at Flat Earth for some brew to cure what ails you.

Week 5 of Porterfest brings another new infusion! Bravado is a cherry-fudge infusion.
