Town Hall Bee Release May 3rd… “Dublin Ale”

Hey All,
We dug into the history books to find next week’s release. We had a crazy Irishman tell us of the elusive “Dublin Ale”…sounded interesting. We hit the resource books and the net and found references everywhere to “Dublin Ale”, but no recipe just hints. Even Guiness talked about their production of “Dublin Ale” prior to making stout. The best we could find the beer somewhat resembled Porter with distinct hops and yeast. We then found a scratched out recipe for Irish Porter, Jeff took all of our info home and created the recipe for our Irish Porter (AKA Dublin Ale???)…..release May 3 (5-6pm)

* Lifetime Pint Club Memberships now on sale through 5/11. Just 50 will be sold and 10 are already gone….inquire within

* I’d like to welcome you aboard as we depart for India. Look for our India Brown Ale followed by our India Wheat Ale all in route to our final destination…your favorite India Pale Ale “1800”. We expect to reach our destination early to mid June.

* Maibock celebration/release May 13

* Look Out! “The Warrior” is coming…….

Cheers
Mike

For the Rogue Chipotle Ale Fans

I don’t get out to White Bear Lake much, but a reader, Jeff Rush, pointed out that Washington Square Bar and Brill has Rogue Chipotle Ale on tap. I can’t say I’ve seen that on tap in the Twin Cities before, but then again, I’m more of a fan of some of Rogue’s other beers.

downtown Minneapolis giving away free pint glasses and assorted Surly swag.
On Thursday, we’ll be at the Arborfest Beer festival at Macalester College.
A number of great breweries and brewpubs will be attending the event, and
tickets are still available. Admission is $40 and proceeds go to charity.
Find out more at www.ticketworks.com.

We’ve been busy at the brewery getting things ready for our upcoming open
house. Landscaping has been completed and the bar is moving along. Mark your
calendars; this is the final update: The open house will be Friday, May 12
from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, May 13 from noon to 4. You can stop by
anytime during those hours, take a tour and, oh yeah, drink a few beers.

In addition, our newest beer, Cynic Ale, should be available! We’ll also
have a number of special beers that Todd is putting on cask. Underage
visitors are certainly welcome, but they obviously won’t be drinking. We’ll
have loads of merch for sale, so bring your pickup or station wagon to haul
away all your Surly stuff. No need for making reservations, just stop on by.

See you here,
Omar
