Brief Update from Brau Bros.

braubrothers.jpgBelow is a brief update (links removed) found on the Brau Bros. website (and no, this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t check the site out yourself).  Lucan (pronounced “loo-can” – they notice if you pronounce it wrong apparently : ) ) is a bit off the beaten path for many of us, but they make it up to the Cities for tastings periodically.  There will be Brau Bros. tastings at Wine Street Spirits in Bloomington and Blue Max in Burnsville this Sat., 4/12  Check out Brau Bros. schedule of events for more details.

April 2, 2008
This Friday we will be tapping the first ever cask-conditioned ale from Brau Bros! Our very own local pub, the BrauHaus will host the event. At about 6:30 pm we will start serving a dry-hopped firkin of Brau Pale Ale – I’ll be pouring the pints. I believe pints are only $2. I know the BrauHaus is looking to make cask beer a regular on “Firkin Fridays”. Beth, thanks for the heads-up on a couple blog entries mentioning Brau Bros, here: and here:.It’s always great to hear from people who pronounce “Lucan” correctly on the first try.
Take Care,
Dustin

The Four Firkins – one step closer!

I received a nice e-mail from Jason this morning regarding the Four Firkins. He picked up the keys for the new space in St. Louis Park on Friday. He’s on the agenda for the April 28th City Council meeting for liquor license approval. It probably won’t be an issue, but if you live in St. Louis Park, please consider joining us at the meeting in support that evening. The plans are set – look forward to a May 24th opening!

Pig Happenings

Mark over at The Muddy Pig sent out the following email yesterday.

Hi All, lots going on at The Muddy Pig.

Equinox Beer Sale. Some beers are just better in 750ml bottles than in smaller bottles or even on tap. In fact we love them so much that we keep buying them even though we don’t have room for them all.  We need to clear some out to make room for the new beers so we’re having a sale.  Join us this Thursday, March 20 to celebrate the vernal equinox with big bottles of beer at fire sale prices.  Quantities are limited and when they’re gone, they’re gone.

Flat Earth Turns 1. Join us next Monday, March 24 to celebrate Flat Earth Brewing’s first birthday.  We’ll have 4 Flat Earth beers on tap along with a couple of surprises and Jeff Williamson (Mr. Flat Earth himself) will be on hand to talk beer. The party starts at 5:00. Oh, and all Flat Earth beers will be just $3.

Bell‘s Oberon Release Party.  You know it’s spring when Oberon arrives. The Muddy Pig will be hosting the St. Paul release party for Oberon on Tuesday, March 25 starting at 6:00.  Enjoy pints of Oberon for just $3.  We’ll also be raffling off Bell’s goodies from 6-8 so plan on not getting much done at work next week.
I think that’s enough for now. Mark
