FFF at Thomas Liquors

The guys at Thomas Liquors in St Paul are thrilled to announce September’s Fitty’s First Friday.  Dave Espe will be pouring Deschutes this Friday, September 3 from 4pm to 7pm.

(Fitty would also like to let everyone know that he has some Black Butte XXI left and he may be persuaded (easily) to open a bottle.)

Ale Jail Tastings

We missed posting a Tuesday Tasting at the Ale Jail–well, rather the details were being worked out and so it wasn’t ready for publication, but we think it’s worth the wait.

Jeff from Flat Earth Brewing will be coming into the store Tuesday, August 31 for the release of the Burmuda Triangle Belgian Style Tripel in 22oz bombers. ! Jeff will be pouring samples of the beer from growlers and you will be able to purchase the bombers at the store.  5pm – 7pm.

Ale Jail Tastings

The Tuesday Tastings at The Ale Jail (aka The Wine Thief) continue tomorrow, August 24 with some tasty beer from the Cellar Reserve line-up from Grand Teton Brewing.

On Tuesday, Aug 31, Jeff from Flat Earth Brewing will be coming into the store for the release of the Burmuda Triangle Belgian Style Tripel in 22oz bombers! Jeff will be pouring samples of the beer from growlers and you will be able to purchase the bombers at the store.

On Tuesday, Sept. 7, Adam welcomes Duluth’s own Lake Superior. They’ll be cracking some Kayak Kölsch, Special Ale, Mesabi Red, Oatmeal Stout, and Oktoberfest.

On Tuesday, Sept. 14, get ready for fall with a cider tasting. Stop by and try a variety of their ciders including J.K. Scrumpy’s, Aspall ciders from England, Black Star Farms cider from Michigan, and Crispin ciders from right here in Minneapolis.

All the tastings are 5pm – 7pm, and are free of course! Look for more dates to come.

Tuesday Ale Jail Tasting: Sam Smith

With the plethora of new US and Minnesota craft beers flooding our market, it’s sometimes easy to forget the international pioneers. Well this Tuesday, you’ll have an opportunity to reaquaint (or acquaint) yourself with one of those classic breweries, Samuel Smith, at St. Paul’s Wine Thief/Ale Jail. Tomorrow night from 5 p.m. until the bottles run dry, they’ll be sampling the majority of Sam Smith’s exported products including the India Ale, Oatmeal Stout, Imperial Stout, Pure Brewed Lager, Strawberry, Raspberry and Cherry ales, Nut Brown Ale and the Stingo “Oak Aged Dark Ale”.

This tasting is part of their regular Tuesday night beer tastings, the full schedule which will be posted in the next couple days.
