Derek from Schell’s Brewery will be stopping by the Ale Jail this Thursday from 5-7pm. Derek is currently a Cellarman and Assistant Brewer at Schell’s and will be sampling the Pils, Firebrick, Hopfenmalz and the new Bock. Stop in a learn a little about the brewery and how the beers are made!
Head over to Heritage Thursday for some fun with Goose Island. They’ll be pouring samples of Mild Winter, an American Mild Ale with rich caramel malt and some rye thrown in for spice, Pepe Nero, a Black Saison brewed with peppercorns, and Fleur, a Belgian Pale Ale brewed with hibiscus and kombucha tea. They’ll have Mild Winter on sale for $11.49/12pk Thursday only.

Stop by Heritage from 5-7pm this Thursday January 27th and try some samples from Tyranena Brewing with Conrad Tufte, their Beer Ambassador. They will be tasting 3 or 4 of their year rounds plus one or possibly two from their Brewers Gone Wild series. BGW Benjii’s Smoked Imperial Porter with Chipotle on sale for $6.99 and they’re also gonna pull a case of BGW Doubly Down and Even Dirtier out of the cellar to sell for the occasion.
France 44 has an upcoming series of cellar beer tastings that sound cool. They’re $20 a piece and the first in the series is on January 19th. The first class will be all about stouts and porters. They will be opening a few past vintages of each style and whenever possible, they will open the new vintage of the same beer to compare and contrast. Register here.
