Barley John’s Beer Dinner

Barley John’s is now taking reservations for an elegant New Years Eve Dinner ~ your meal will be paired with your choice of wine or beer and the grand finale will be the release of our Rosie’s – a triple fermented ale that last release clocked in at 18% abv. We have been aging her away for the last 2 years in Bourbon casks and have been patiently awaiting her return. This beer pushes the envelope of “beer” and harkens more towards a fine Sherry or Port. Intense vinous aromatics with a lusciously sweet background, brilliant clarity and that familiar warming tone from the elevated abv%. Served in 5oz bourbon glasses, Rosie’s is truly a beer to experience. We will open on New Year’s Eve at 5pm and stay open until the New Year! Our reservation block will be from 5pm – until 9pm. Our regular menu is available during this time as well.

Theology & A Pint

Theology & a Pint is a monthly gathering and casual discussion for anyone interested in exploring the intersection of faith, god, culture and politics.

Incidentally, the event is at Kip’s Irish Pub which, thankfully,  has two Minnesota beers on tap and three more in the bottle.

Baby Jesus: Who is this Child?

What are we celebrating anyways this month? Supposedly, Christmas is about the birth of Jesus, but who is Jesus? What do the Nativity stories say about who this wee baby is supposed to be? Does it matter that he was born into poverty under suspicious circumstances? We’ll spend some time discussing who Jesus was and what this holiday might actually be about.
When: Tuesday, December 19th, 8:00pm
Where: Kip’s Irish Pub (Just West of 394 & Hwy 169)
9970 Wayzata Blvd, St. Louis Park (http://www.kipspub.com/)

Town Hall Release: Winterstorm

12/27 We will release a Winterstorm. 5-6pm (Let’s hope for snow). I know I’ve warned all of you Thunderstorm people about a winter version. Well, here you go! Winterstorm marks the first addition to our storm series of beers. Keep your eye open for the storms all year long. Be aware all the storms will include lemongrass and some form of honey as ingredients. Should be fun! Winterstorm is a chocolate covered orange fermented with Belgian yeast. (Lemongrass and Orange Blossom Honey).

Town Hall Mulled Ale & Holiday Fire

12/20 we will also have our annual mulled-ale and holiday fire. Begins at 5:00. This is a chance for all of you to have a nice warm spiced drink on us (while supply lasts) and warm your tukus by the fire before everyone splits for the holiday. Just a little thanks for your continued support. Let’s hope for continued warm weather. If anyone wants to bring in some fire-wood…feel free.
