Bell’s Tasting at the Happy Gnome

The Happy Gnome is having a beer tasting featuring Bell’s beers on Wednesday, November 15th at 7:00 pm. $15 entitles you to 8 4oz. pours of the following beers:

HopSlam, Hell Hath No Fury, Batch 7000, Third Coast Old Ale, Double Cream Stout, Java Stout, Expedition Stout and Cherry Stout

All of these beers will be on draft, and you will be able buy pints of each as well. And just to make things go down a bit more smoothly, there will be a band playing at 8pm.

As Surly as They Want to Be…

This week is a good week to get Surly, with the release of Darkness and another big surprise that will be revealed on Wednesday.

Darkness will be unleashed this week! Check us out at MacKenzies Pub on Friday, October 27th. We will be pouring Darkness and have a cask of Furious. The cask beer will be free! Show up early to Mackenzies to get a ticket for a free glass of cask beer. Darkness will come out of hiding and reveal itself at Surly Bars mid-week.

Spudtoberfest 2006, Saturday 10-21

Finnegan’s second annual Spudtoberfest begins on Saturday at 7:00pm at Kieran’s Irish Pub in Minneapolis.

Here is the skinny:

The 2nd annual Spudtoberfest is a fundraiser designed to raise awareness about the challenges of at risk youth in the Twin Cities and programs, such as Bolder Options, in our community that assist these youth and their families in having a better life. Our goal is to raise $20,000 at this event through door sales and a live and silent auction. We raised $12,000 last year – so we have a hefty goal this year. This event is a joint effort between Finnegans and the newly established Minneapolis Jaycee chapter – this event is bringing together community minded individuals to make a difference!Spudtoberfest will be an evening of Irish music, complimented with the most creative spud dishes and Irish buffet you have ever seen and a most competitive potato carving competition and a spud recipe competition – all judged by local Irish celebrities with fabulous prizes to be had as well! You also won’t want to miss our silent auction!

Date: Saturday, October 21st, 2006

Time: The fun begins at 7pm in the Titanic Lounge at Kieran’s Irish Pub in Minneapolis

Entertainment: Featuring the Brian Boru Pipe band and other great Irish music and good craic!

Emcee: Kieran Folliard himself!
