Castle Danger Brewery fires up, Mike Creager, Lake Country News Journal
“Life’s definitely busy.”
Owners Jamie and Clint MacFarlane own Castle Haven Cabins. No doubt they’ll be quite busy in upcoming months… running a resort is a lot of work, and from what we hear, running a brewery is no small affair, either. Castle Danger is delivering kegs now and plans to get a license to sell growlers. You can catch them at Gitchee Gumee or places such as Sir Benedict’s in Duluth. We wish them the best of luck!
A good read, there.
Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but is this the first ever resort brewery in Minnesota? I believe there are prior examples in other midwestern states, but it’s good to know that it can be done right here : )
Jonny: I vacation at Town Hall frequently. Does that count?
Only if it’s a ‘Three Hour Tour’, Ben ; )
3BBL system,eh? I was just reading a blog about how essetinaly no brewery can make money on less then a 10BBL system. A lot of it makes sense, but im sure there are exceptions. I really wonder how many of these breweries actually live off the income from their “nano breweries”, or if they maintain a side job. Castle danger does have the resort to bring in the big bucks anyway.
