Al, the man behind all those great taps at the Blue Nile, has another week of specialness cooked up for you. This time it’s also to help honor St. Arnoldus Day.
Monday, July 18 is the Belgian holiday, St. Arnoldus Day, celebrating the holy man who exhorted citizens to drink beer, not water, in a time of plague. We’re celebrating with a total Belgian takeover of our tap lines for one day. It will also be the kick-off for Belg-a-Rama #8, our somewhat monthly series of 6 unique Belgian beers (meaning 2 beer is ever repeating in the series). The Belg-a-Rama #8 line-up:
Kasteel Cuvee des Chateau, an aged, blended version of the donker.
Poperings Hommel Bier, an early entry in the “Belgian IPA” category, before the term was ever coined.
McChouffe, the Scotch ale from Brasserie d’Achouffe.
Brasserie des Rocs Tripel Imperiale. (not an “imperial tripel”, just an incredible beer!
and two that need no introduction, Delirium Tremens and Duvel Single, the new draft version of Duvel.
The other 6: Saison Dupont, Tripel Karmeliet, Kwak, St. Bernardus Abt. 12, St. Feullien Tripel, and Cuvee des Jacobins Rouge.
Sample sets? Naturally!
