For those of you in the South Metro, or willing to get there, head over to Cellar’s in Eagan this Saturday, January 17th 2:00 – 5:00 pm for possibly the most eclectic beer tasting to date with beers up to 11% ABV being poured.

They will be sampling 15 different beers, including Schell Schmaltz’s Alt and Lagunitas Brown Sugga.

While you’re there you might want to pick up some Tyranena Hop Wh0re, Nogne Imperial Stout or Southern Tier Gemini.

NOT THAT I’VE SEEN. YOU COULD CALL AROUND TO SOME OF THE BIGGER NAME STORES BUT I DON’T THINK I’D BOTHER. SADLY THAT ONE HAS LOST SOME OF IT’S INITIAL HOPPY BEAUTY ALREADY.

Showed up and there were lots of people there. The store didn’t put much thought into it as the tasting area blocked some cooler doors and was next to a big pile of cases of beer. People there tasting were blocking more doors to the cooler so I wasn’t able to see all they had to offer. Left after a couple minutes. Sorry but I’m not going to push my way through a bunch of people to get a tiny taste of beer. Seems every time I try to attend a Cellars tasting (at any location) there are people crowded around the tasting table preventing anyone else from getting in an getting a taste. Would have loved to spend some money there today as we need several cases of brew for up north next week but I guess I’ll be spending it at Dennis Brothers on Monday instead.

The beer tasting was very busy when I was there and seemed to be lots of people who had never had any of the brews they were sampling. It’s great to see they’re able to draw a crowd and introduce them to some new beers.
