Autumn Brew Review has been my gold standard for local beer festivals over the years. This year we celebrate 11 years of great beers on Sept. 17th with a small change to accommodate more people. This year, the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild has decided to split ABR into two sessions, one from 10am – 2pm and another from 3-7pm. Brewers will be splitting beer equally between both sessions, so the biggest advantage of going to the early session is that the early session will have mini bloody mary samples with horseraddish-infused vodka from Referent Vodka and mixers from Lehmann Farms.
tl;dr – Autumn Brew Review tickets go on sale Friday, July 15th at noon.
Historic Grain Belt Brewery grounds, Minneapolis. $30 in advanced, $40 at the door if it doesn’t sell out.
I like this little blurb from the ticket information site;
“Please note, purchasing tickets for both sessions is not prohibited, but it is not encouraged by the MNCBG”
Ha. I’ll be living a few blocks from there starting in September, so I plan on buying tickets to both sessions. Arrive late to the early session, have a nice break to go home for lunch, then come back for the later session after the line has subsided. Nice, leisurely day of beer drinking, that.
HA! That’s what you say now. In reality, I’m sure you’ll end up going early for the early session, power through 2 P.M., go drink a late lunch from 2 to 3, and then wonder why you decided to streak the second session as it is wrapping up. Don’t deny!
You forgot the part where, after streaking, I get dangerously close to the river and I’m never heard from again.
Mag, you speak as if you might have some experience in this…
Chad: If you skip the start of the sessions you’re likely to miss a number of the special offerings.
While I have a friends place I’m headed just a couple blocks away, I’m not down for spending $60 to hit both sessions. 1 is enough for me to enjoy some great beers and then spend the rest of the night celebrating a birthday. Could even hit Free Beer Hour at Town Hall after the first session. Only issue I have with the 2 session is that you will have to coordinate with friends for which one you want to goto and even then there are always great people you would normally run into that will likely goto another session. Wonder if the brewers will hang out the whole time, goto only 1 session, or attend parts of both.
Ryan, you’ve seen me. You know this dude’s not streakin’ nuthin.
While I live a mere five blocks from there, I will be only attending the second session as that is the one that works best for our group. Also, I cannot see spending the money on tickets to both.
My concern with two sessions, like Ben, is coordinating with friends. I go to ABR because it is a great way to bump into a lot of people I don’t see all that often. The beer is good and all but it is the social aspect of the event that pulls me in every year. Hopefully, the additional session will broaden the appeal and draw in more attendees.
FWIW, Kat and I are attending the first session.
Shocking that the site is down right at noon….
Well this is a new one – OUR MNCBG site crashed – not the ticketing site – go straight here for ABR tickets – http://www.ticketweb.com/snl/E?ventListings.action?orgId=4398?3
All I get is a 404 error for the link that Laura MNCBG posted
After 10 years you would think they could get this right….2 sessions is a joke

Use http://www.ticketweb.com/snl/EventListings.action?orgId=43983 to view both sessions!
