Whoops. Mike and I both got so excited about this story that we posted it at the same time. Mmm, beer. Here’s a link to our combined post. Sorry about that!

A friend shared this with me today and it was too cool to not pass on.
From the artist’s website:
I recently completed this very large pencil drawing highlighting 8 great craft brewers in Minnesota. Pete Rifakes of Town Hall Brewery in Minneapolis was the man behind the idea. He allowed me to create a drawing that might be the first of its kind in Minnesota. (maybe the free world!)
Thanks to all of the craft brewers who participated. It was fun to travel the state and meet everyone. In no particular order, here are the breweries that participated; Town Hall Brewery-Minneapolis, Summit Brewing-St. Paul, Fulton Brewery-Minneapolis, Surly Brewing Company-Brooklyn Center, Schell’s Brewery-New Ulm, Fitger’s Brewhouse-Duluth, Steel Toe Brewing-St. Louis Park and last but not least, Lift Bridge Brewing of Stillwater.
Rumor has it that the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild will have the original drawing displayed as part of their State Fair exhibit this year. Look for the display in the Ag/Hort Building.
Last night atop the Uptown Cafeteria on the Sky Bar some food and Schell’s beer magic happened. It was my first experience at a beer dinner and it was well worth the wait. Here’s what it looked like.
Ted Marti warming up the crowd
Course one, roasted red pepper bisque with Schell’s Pils
Course two, duck prosciutto-pear salad with Schell’s Radler
Course three, housemade lamb sausage with Schell’s Emerald Rye
Main course, roasted suckling pig with Schell’s FireBrick
Dessert, Hefeweizen glazed hazelnut chocolate & banana tart with honey ice cream & Schell’s Hefeweizen
Looks like we’ll have another option if we want to drink pints at a brewery coming very soon.
Yesterday Steel Toe Brewing got approval for their taproom and we should be seeing it by the end of the year.
