Not much of an update

All American Grill and BrewhouseEvery couple of weeks Kris and I lob a call into All American Grill and Brewhouse to find out if/when they’ll be serving their own beer. Three weeks ago we were told they’d have something in three weeks. Alas, that is not to be. Due to a problem getting hops, they’ve been delayed yet again. The good news is that the hops have arrived (well, some have). It’s time to fire up the brew kettle, folks! As a consolation for the lack of beer, among the other entertaining events held during the week, AAGB is hosting Guitar Hero Night on Thursdays. Enjoy it while it lasts, friends, because after I make an appearance for Guitar Hero Night, they’ll have to rebuild the bar from the ground up ’cause I’ll burn that place down with my smokin’ riffs.

Taste of the Twin Cities (Food & Wine Event)

Okay, it’s not a beer event, but Great Waters’ food is featured and there are fermented beverages to enjoy (information courtesy of Great Waters’ eClub).

Mark your calendars for the 2nd Annual Winter Taste of the Twin Cities Originals, Tuesday, February 26th, 2008.

Boasting a new location, The Great Hall in St. Paul (180 East 5th Street), this year’s festivites will feature the same extraordinary food from Great Waters Brewing Company and the Twin Cities finest restaurants, along with complimentary wine from the Gallo Family Vineyards.

We hope you will join us for this remarkable strolling food and wine event. Tickets in advance are $40 and can be purchased at Great Waters and other TCO member restaurants or purchase online.

Remaining tickets will be available at the door for $45. Your ticket covers entrance to the event and all the food and wine.

Schell’s Stout and Calendar of Events!

Schell’sAs was posted some time back, Schell’s had made some changes to their website.  They continue to do so.  The News & Events tab is a bit more robust than in the past, which is exciting.  Check it out.  Highlights include news that in March Schell’s will be bringing back their 2006 vintage Snowstorm as Schell’s Stout.  Additionally, they’ve added a number of dates to their calendar of events.  February looks to be a very busy month for Schell’s staff and fans.

Acadia Re-Opening 1/23

Finally!!!  Acadia Cafe will be re-opening at their new location, 329 Cedar Ave. S, Minneapolis, this Wednesday, 1/23.  For those of you unfamiliar with the area, it’s in the Seven Corners area a little bit South of Town Hall and just West of the U of M’s Carlson School.  Kris and I are going to fall on a grenade and stop in that evening to help them work out the bugs with their taps.  *Jeez* The things will do to support good beer in Minnesota.  Hope to see you there.
