Muddy Pig Belgian Beer Fest Seminar: Belgian Brown Ales

Wanna learn about Belgian Brown Ales? Brad the Beerguy of Chisago Lakes Distributing will be discussing them with you!

Explore the history, characteristics and variety of this often overlooked beer style.  From dubbels through big browns you will be able to learn, taste and enjoy along with a selection of fine chocolates and pastries. If you caught Brad’s seminar on “True Lambics” you know Brad leaves nothing on the table.  Literally.

Seminars are $20 each or all three for $50.  Tickets will be available at The Pig around 5pm Friday, Sept. 4th. Due to high demand (all seminars sold out last year) we are unable to “hold” tickets for people so plan on stopping by The Pig sooner rather than later to purchase yours.

Muddy Pig Belgian Beer Fest Seminar: Why Belgium?

The Muddy Pig welcomes Lanny Hoff of Artisanal Imports to answer–or at least ponder–the question “Why Belgium?”

Why is Belgium a hotbed of brewing?  How and why did Belgian brewers develop such unique styles? And what better way to learn about the beers than to taste them? Lanny is one of our most popular speakers and knows way more about Belgian beers than he should.  You definitely want to skip out of work early to catch this one.

ABR Gets Even Better

The Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild is bringing beer festivals to a higher level at the Autumn Beer Review this year with new opportunities to learn a bit more about the beverage in your 5oz glass.

Ride the fabled Pedal Pub to and from the brewery and parking lot, join a brewer and a foodie on the Pedal Pub as they present/demonstrate great food & beer pairing, and join Doug Hoverson, Minnesota brewery historian and author of Land of Amber Waters, for a tour of the grounds of the Grain Belt brewery.  Sign-up for these by visiting the Guild Information Booth at the festival. Space is limited for all seminars and tours, which will last approx. 30 minutes each.

More information, including cost and times, is available here.

And you thought you’d *just* be drinking awesome beer with good friends at a great location this year….
