Darkness Glass Give Away

Got plans for Friday night? In addition to the Cask Bender being tapped at Cafe Twenty Eight on Friday, check this out:

On Friday November 23rd we will give away three sets of two official brewery Darkness glasses at our Cask Bender tapping.  The tapping starts at 9:00 PM. Any Surly purchase gets your name in the hat for the drawing (limit one entry per person).  The drawing will be at 10:45PM Need not be present to win, but if your not you will have to come back and pick them up.

Please note that these are not the evil Darkness goblets that Todd does.  We only part with those for our favorite charity The Wildcat Sanctuary.  Look for another charity event for them sometime this winter.

The link was for Cafe 28 in Chicago. Is it really in Chicago, or did you mean Café Twenty Eight in Minneapolis?

  2. Eric says:

Thanks. It is of course in Mpls–this is Mnbeer.com afterall. (And Todd of Surly is co-owner of Cafe Twenty Eight). Link fixed….

You forgot the accent the e. Café Twenty Eight.

  4. Eric says:

    I’m resigning….

Thanks everybody for showing up last night for our first cask tapping. Who knew that a pin could be blown in less than twenty minutes at such a little place. Next time a firkin! I had one small sip, I remember brutal vanilla oak flavors. Linda
(Todd wrote that last descriptor, I had put nice vanilla flavors)

Thanks again Linda and Todd. Had a great time. Great food and great beer (good friends too).

I showed up an hour late, and somehow Todd managed to squeeze a glass out of the dregs of that pin.
    What a guy…and what a gal!
    Thanks, T & L, you’re the swellest!

So whats the difference between the goblets and the glasses? Diff. artwork?

The glasses are the glasses that Surly provided with each 1/2 barrel of Darkness. The goblets are the ones that we started last year. Todd has a sandblaster which he uses to etch the design on. His plan is to make each years design more evil than the last. The Surly glass is a really nice shape and size for all purpose tasting.
