You may have already tried out Fulton’s Sweet Child of Vine, but have you had it on cask yet? If not, you’ve got two opportunities to do so this week. There will be firkins of Fulton (say that 10 times fast) at Buster’s on 28th and Old Chicago, Eden Prairie.

Is this real cask ale? Was it finished in the firkin?
That’s right, it is real cask ale! We pulled it off the fermenter with a few points of gravity to go, and let it finish out in the firkin. There are also dry hops in each firkin (in addition to the dry hopping in the fermenter). Hope to see you out there.
Whew, thank goodness! There has been such a rash of fake real ale lately.
Well, Duke, from what I’ve been told there have been instances of beer racked into firkins and served from said firkins without having been finished in the firkin as a real ale should be.
Really? Who might the culprits be?
weak
Excited to try, love your stuff guys. I hear the Imperial Stout is on its way.
Duke-
Culprits? Not sure. This was at last year’s Firkin Fest and someone was telling me something about some out-of-town breweries and I don’t recall which ones they were.
That’s as much detail as I’m wiling to divulge.
I will say that I’ve had some pretty crappy firkins from local places where the beer was not clear, more like glass of yeast. Either that beer was not ready or was poorly handled by the bar, not sure which it was.
There is a level of training which just hasn’t happened at many local bars when it comes to proper firkin handling.
When you have a bartender telling you that your glass of cloudy brown particulate is “the way it should be” well that’s just ignorance.
Wow, thats outright dishonest on your part. If you are going to make claims like these you better have the facts and be willing to share them. This somebody, somewhere, sometime might have told me something about some brewery stuff is a bunch of bull shit!
I’m not going to reveal my sources, Dukie, or name names. Sorry you don’t like that.
Not at all suprised, and dont be sorry, Im sure you cant help it.
