Lift Bridge is on a roll!
On December 4th we will release our Crosscut Pale Ale™ in bottles. Crosscut Pale Ale™ was our second beer release and has been available since September 2008 in draft only. Crosscut Pale Ale™ will continue to be available in draft at fine bars and restaurants.
The beer is a well balanced pale ale with multiple additions of Cascade hops. Our unique introduction of grapefruit peel complements the citrus notes of the hops.
Beer style: Pale Ale
ABV: 5.5%
IBU: 55
SRM: 13In June of 2009 we released our Farm Girl Saison® in bottles. Many of our current beer store customers have placed orders. Look for our second release in bottles, Crosscut Pale Ale™.
I’ve been buying Farm Girl Saison ever since it came out in bottles. It is now a staple beer at our house. I’m looking forward to getting Crosscut Pale Ale.
Hmm…I wonder if I should buy a bigger beer fridge. Between numerous cans of Surly, various growlers from area brewpubs, and bottles from Lift Bridge, Summit, and Schell’s, I’m running out of room.
Scott-I suggest drinking more.
The west coast probably doesn’t have much to worry about yet, but MN is really starting to amass a fairly wide and distinct collection of pale ales.
I’m psyched to try Crosscut. The grapefruit infusion sounds interesting.
Actually, I think I had it a few months back at Brew at the Zoo, but it was later on in the evening… after some Giant Star and a couple Bermuda Triangles.
Looking forward to trying bottles. I never could detect any grapefruit peel in it though. Decent Pale ale none the less, seemed about in line w/ EPA.
I’ll try it when they start brewing their own beer. JMHO
Kelly – Lift Bridge does brew all their own beer. True, they don’t have their own facility but they brew using Flat Earth (St. Paul) and Point (Steven’s Point, WI) facilities. I can verify that the Lift Bridge brewers do their own brewing at these facilities.
Ok, I wasn’t sure about that, but that is good to hear! I thought they just contracted and weren’t part of the brewing process. Time to give it a try then!
When the Farm Girl moved to Point it lost much of it’s saison character, I think, and become a lite saison. I won’t be buying any more bottles of that.
I’ll give the Crosscut a taste, but I’m not encouraged by what happened to the Farm Girl.
@David Berg, I like your solution! I’ll be doubling my daily consumption of beer. Now I just gotta figure out which meal to skip otherwise the calorie load will be excessive.
@Kelly, to reiterate what Kris wrote, the Lift Bridge guys are brewing their own beer. You could say they are renting brewing equipment from Flat Earth and Point.
I wasnt a huge fan of bottles of Farm Girl either. Really lacked any saison aspects at all. Gave a few bottles to friends, they said ” tastes like Mich Golden!” It is good on tap though.
@Scott
Now you’re thinking!
“My advice to you is to start drinking heavily.”
“You should listen to him, Flounder, he’s pre-med.”
Dave, don’t encourage Scott. His liver is already protruding a couple of inches from the bottom of his rib cage.
53 IBUs….. nice! Can’t wait, guys.
