Brewing TV is celebrating May Day with homebrew. BTV associate Joe Giambruno drops some knowledge and history as he goes old-school on a double-decocted maibock at Northern Brewer Minneapolis. Joe and Chip then join homeboy Andrew Bartelson for tasting notes at his annual May Day Parade party in South Minneapolis. Brew, Share & Enjoy!

Brewing TV turns two years old in proper style – brewing a beer! Jake, Mike, Chip and the brew dogs gather to make Keeler’s Reverse Burster Altbier. During the brew session, we look back on two years of BTV production. We also field some FAQs from our fans. There’s even a contest and a birthday present for our viewers. Wrap it up and put a pretty bow on it, we’re having a birthday party!

Customer Appreciation Day is Saturday from 10-5pm at Midwest Supplies in St. Louis Park. The event will feature brewing demonstrations, a book signing, free food, contests and other fun stuff.

-Jack of All Brews, 2nd Best Brewers, and St. Paul Home Brewers Club will be on site brewing.

-As previously mentioned, Brewed Awakening Author Joshua Bernstein will be  signing copies of his book

Joshua Bernstein, author of Brewed Awakening, will be making a couple of stops in Minnesota this week for a couple of events. Joshua interviewed me a few years ago for a piece on up and coming craft beer cities for Imbibe magazine and edited appropriately so I didn’t sound stupid, so he must be a good guy, right? In any case, Brewed Awakening is his take on the craft beer revolution and features several Minnesota breweries. (See below).

In this episode of Brewing TV, Chip brews his annual favorite Chocolate Stout with real chocolate additions. Most of the beer gets kegged, but some is aside for an eising experiment. He’s joined by his buddy, local chef Zander Dixon, for tasting notes on both versions and a discussion about the eis process. Get eisy!

The Grand Finale of Northern Brewer Minneapolis’ Grand Opening. The day will include homebrewing demonstrations outside. This is a great chance to see various techniques and equipment being used. And what’s even better than homebrew? A bunch of craft beer! There’s a beer festival with some local breweries pouring beer outside. Local breweries include Harriet Brewing, The Herkimer, Surly, Town Hall, and Vine Park. Highlights include a keg of Surly FIVE and a special cask! Free admission.

Jake, Mike & Chip from Brewing TV will be kicking it at Northern Brewer Minneapolis (6021 S. Lyndale Ave) Wednesday night meeting and greeting Twin Cities homebrewers and BTV fans.
