Double Release at Town Hall

Check out Town Hall tonight for not just one, but two beer releases.

Hello Town Hall Drinkers,

We are calling for an end of winter!

So Monday 3/28, we will be releasing our German style Hefeweizen. Which is as sure a sign of spring as the return of the robins. This beer is your classic Hefeweizen, with hints of clove and banana.

We will also be releasing North West Angle. A pale ale brewed with Willamette, Warrior, and Summit hops from the Pacific NW.

So come in for the release and help us bring on the change of season.

Here’s to SPRING,
Town Hall Brewery

Minnesota Brewpubs Behind New Legislation

Yesterday, we reported some news of a bill that would allow for brewpubs to sell their beer to wholesalers. Today we’ve learned that Barley John’s, Boathouse, Fitger’s Brewhouse and Town Hall have all lent their support for said bill (SF1013 and HF1276).

From Tim Nelson, owner of Fitger’s Brewhouse: “The bill is critical for Minnesota Brewpub owners and employees as they strive to grow along with counterparts throughout the United States.”

As many of you know, our laws are certainly not as lenient as some of our surrounding states with regards to brewpubs… brewpubs in Wisconsin can serve on site and also bottle and distribute beer in Minnesota while Minnesota brewpubs can not legally bottle and distribute their beer (aside from on-site, in growlers).

“Minnesota’s current law’s run counter to our state’s interests. It doesn’t make sense to shackle our own breweries in a way that other states do not. We simply want the opportunity to compete, it can only benefit everyone in our state through increased job growth, improved tax revenues and a richer regional culture.”

Celebrate at THB, The Tap, Stub & Herb’s & with Summit

There are no doubt a ton of options for those who aren’t working today or are planning to celebrate after work. Here are just a few that caught my eye.

Minneapolis Town Hall Brewery
$3 pints of Ol’Blarney Irish red ale and Pot of Gold Irish potato stout all day. Plus, Jim Beam reps will be on hand from 7-9pm tonight giving out free samples.

The Town Hall Tap
The Tap is running happy hour ALL day on their Potato Stout and Ol’Blarney Irish Red. Plus, a dinner special of good old corned beef and cabbage with a runny egg on top.

Stub and Herb’s
They’ll be showing college hoops and offering $3 on all Irish Beers and $2.50 for Schells Lite. Kill the Keg, at 8:00 tonight, will be Finnegans Irish Amber ($5 bottomless glass).

Summit Brewing Company

We’re going on our annual Summit crew pub crawl today, from Noon to 7pm. We’ll be tweeting all day our locations. If you’re lucky enough to be off work and you’re at one of the spots, be the first to find Carey from Summit and we’ll buy you a pint! If you don’t follow us yet, sign up today!

Pre-Game Wild Party at Great Waters

Beer fans that are also hockey fans, take note. The Wild is putting on a pre-game party at Great Waters featuring all you can eat ribs, music and beer.

All Wild Facebook fans are invited to take part in a pre-game party prior to the Wild vs. Blues game on Mar. 26. A blues band (Epic Snake) will be providing live entertainment and prizes will be awarded throughout the night. You do not need to have tickets for the Wild game to attend the pre-game party. If you do have game tickets, that is even better!

The menu is tentatively set with ribs, coleslaw, corn on the cob, etc. Beer sampling stations and a cash bar will also be available.

Cost:
Dinner only: $16
Dinner and beer sampling (6 beers): $21

Event attendance is limited so please call in to RSVP now. For any questions or to confirm your reservation, call Great Waters directly at 651-224-2739. Even if you RSVP “yes” on this page, you must still contact Great Waters for your official reservation.

See you at the party!
