Flat Earth Update

Here’s a quick update from Jeff at Flat Earth Brewing:

Greetings,

The last month of this summer looks even busier than the first two! First check out our interview with Jason and Philip of whatalesthee.com for some insights on how we started and where we are going. We start this month by heading out to the Great Taste of the Midwest in Madison, WI on the 11th for one of the oldest beer festivals in the Country.

Then start on the 18th and running every weekend through September our Belgian-style Pale Ale will be available at the Renaissance Festival in Shakopee, MN. Look for us at the following booths: BLT (area 500), Royal (area 200 across from concessions), Kings (the narrows),Foaming Stein (by the pavilion). We will also be doing a beer tasting during Highland Fling weekend (8/25-26), beer and guys in kilts, what more can you ask for?

We are also working on finalizing things for having our beer out at this years State Fair, more to come on that subject later this month.

We are pleased to announce the release of our first seasonal, Bermuda Triangle. This is a Belgian Triple made with honey from the triangle. We will be having a special beer release on the 21st at the Happy Gnome in St. Paul from 6 – 8 p.m. so come down and check it out.

We will be having another brewery tour on the 17th. The tour starts at 6 p.m. and runs for about an hour. What a great way to start the weekend!

And finally Autumn Beer Review information is just beginning to roll out. ABR will be held this year at the historic Grain Belt Brewery in Minneapolis, MN on the 29th of September. More information about this great local beer festival will be coming your way soon.

Thanks for your continued support!

Cheers!

Tyranena coming to Southern Minnesota

More from Wisconsin…this time, Tyranena arrives in southern Minnesota. Thanks to Ben for passing along the info!

Tyranena Soon To Be In Minnesota. Our first Minnesota distributor is picking up an order on Friday. Schott Distributing will cover parts of southeastern Minnesota, including the counties of Fillmore, Houston, Mower, Winona, Olmsted, Dodge, Wabasha and Goodhue… that would mean such cities as Rochester, Winona, Austin, Rushford, and Wabasha. If you live in this area make sure to ask for the beer at your local store!

Hopefully this will lead to it’s availability in the rest of the state.

The Surly Open (Disc) Golf Tournament

This sounds like a good time, and if I didn’t suck at disc golf (or have plans that day), I’d probably go. Surly Open.

That’s right. Surly is putting together a golf tournament Sunday, August 5th. Leave your golf shirts, clubs and balls at home, this one is a disc golf tourney. We will have sign-up on the web-site in a few days. The plan is to have to waves of a shotgun start. What’s that mean? Everybody that signs up will head out to a designated hole and start playing at the same time. We are planning on start times of 9:00 and 1:00. Cost is going to be $25. That includes the game of golf, a Surly disc golf and dinner. We are working on putting together some fun hole prizes. Like longest drive gets a case of beer, stuff like that.

Tell your friends and plan on signing up, we need to fill this event up so we can repeat it next year.

One more thing, this event is open to everyone. This is not a competitive tourney, the idea is to have a little fun. See you throwing!
