Beer Dabbler Highland Fest

The next Beer Dabbler festival, Summer Beer Dabbler at Highland Fest is right around the corner – Saturday, July 21st from 1-5pm (doors open at 12:30) at Hillcresst Park in St. Paul as part of St. Paul’s Highland Fast.

Tickets are  $30 in advance or $40 at the door (unless it sells out, and I think it will).  As per usual, you can sample beers from more than 50 local, regional, and national breweries as well as some special new and limited releases, including The Beer Dabbler’s Oak Barrel brew, made exclusively for the event by Big Wood Brewery.

Food? Yes. Details? Sure. Along with typical Highland Fest fare, Beer Dabbler will have some great food trucks on the premises, including Hola Arepa, Fork in the Road, Chef Shack, and Stanley’s on Wheels.

Other fun stuff: Live music by The Japhies, Little Man and Apollo Cobra; Fourth annual Highland Fest Home Brew Competition;
Stanley’s Northeast Bar Room Minnow Races; (beer) educational games and activities put on by the Science Museum of Minnesota’s Social Science and more!

Get your tickets online at thebeerdabbler.com or at The Ale Jail, Four Firkins, or Thomas Liquors.

Hopped Up Caribou Beer Festival

Looking for a fun excuse to get out of the Twin Cities and head north for the weekend on an adventure that doesn’t involve the cabin, going fishing with your family, or barbecuing in the heat? Check out Lutsen, Minnesota’s second annual Hopped Up Caribou Beer Festival July 13-15, 2012 for beer and fun all day(s) long.

Prices are $35 per person for the Saturday (July 14) beer garden or $130 per person for the weekend lodging package (prices vary depending on the number of people and the lodge). The 2- Night Stay & Dine package is sold out unfortunately, but you can still experience the rest of the beer fest!

Top 5 reasons to check it out:

  1. There will be homegrown brewing heroes there; you get to rub elbows with the Minnesota brewing glitterati. Check it out for yourself: The brewery list
  2. All the brewing heroes have all been hand-picked, so not only do they complement each other and their unique styles to create a larger more wonderful well-rounded experience, but you’re guaranteed to like (or at least respect) all of them
  3. You get to enjoy the sights of beautiful Lake Superior; it is the superior lake after all
  4. It’s the SECOND annual Hopped Up Caribou Beer Festival, so you know it’s a good time
  5. It’s less hot up there. Cool even. Go get yourself some of that!

Brew Love at Target Field

Brew Love is an annual beer tasting event at the Metropolitan Club at Target Field. This year’s event takes place on August 2nd. The goal of the event is to raise funds for the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, a dental clinic on wheels that delivers quality dental care directly to under-served children in the 14-county Twin Cities metropolitan area.

Tickets can be purchased here here – $25 for the beer tasting or $50 for the beer tasting coupled with food pairings. Event schedule forthcoming.

UPDATE: In addtition to the above mentioned breweries, others that will be participating are: Flat Earth, Fulton, Lucette and Surly.
As for the food, it will include: prosciutto wrapped melon, Bavarian pretzels with cheese, walleye cakes, bruschetta and more.
