Description
Ryan Anderson (that's me!) is the editor & founder of MNBeer. MNBeer launched in the fall of 2005 and quickly became Minnesota's resource for craft & local beer news, events & education. My history as a "writer" date back to the early 90s with a print zine called Sally's Lowrider that morphed into (arguably) the Fargo/Moorhead area's most celebrated zine, Carothers Brothers, whose six issues largely poked fun at the area's mid-90s punk rock scene with sarcastic wit and punk rock naïveté. During that time I also contributed some reviews to Alternative Press' Demorandum, which probably sounds cooler than it actually was. Sometime in the late 90s I became an editor of Yahtzeen, Fargo's longest-running print and web zine and had the pleasure of interviewing a number of fairly cool people including (but not limited to) Sean Tillman, Mike Watt and others. Yahtzeen suffered from technology issues, and perhaps being a little big for our britches and died in the early 00s. I still maintain that if we had the proper resources, we would have continued to be more interesting than Pitchfork, one of the very few indie webzines to survive the early 00s. Oh, and I know who Indieshite is/was, so there.
