Summit Unchained #5

Imperial Pumpkin Porter? That’s the word on the street anyway. I’m sure Summit will shoot us some details soon, right? :)

    Imperial = good
    Porter = Good
    Pumpkin = ummmmmmm…

    Agree with Jason’s assessment

    Same here, pumpkin = not a fan.

    I hope this style takes off. Four Peaks in Arizona makes a Pumpkin Porter and it’s one of my favorite beers of all time.

    Isn’t this a bit late to be a rumor? I’m no beer market analyst but I would think that interest in a pumpkin beer would peek around the late October time frame thats little over a month away, shouldn’t we have seen a label approved by now?

    I’ve really enjoyed the other beers in the series but I’m going to pass on this one. Not a fan of pumpkin beers.

    Pumpkin?? Ah come on, Summit. Don’t do that to an innocent porter.

    Make some more of Unchained #2 and the world will rejoice.

    If it’s anything like Southern Tier’s Pumpking, bring it on!

    I’m sure Mark is down for whatever the guys want to do but pumpkin in the mash tun…I dont know. Sounds a bit of a white elephant to me. Just b/c you can, doesn’t me you should…

    Sure is a lot of crying about a beer people haven’t even tried yet.

    I’m with Ben. If you support Summit then you’ll try it. If you don’t like it, well then at least you tried it and actually know you don’t like it. But with all beers, give it a chance. You may be pleasantly surprised. I can’t wait to try the next in the series.

    I’m also looking forward to #6.

    And I’m with Kris; Southern Tier is the top of the Pumpkin iceberg IMO, but if it can lock horns with Weyerbacher’s and New Holland’s offerings and fare well, I’ll be very plesaed with Summit once again (plus the porter base intrigues me).

    Way to take a chance…this is what the “unchained” series is all about. Looking forward to it! Plus, thumbs up for not releasing in July.
