So, they’re actually going to have enough beer to pour $4 pints for 8 hours? Really?

  2. alan baldwing wrote on March 17th, 2010 at 7:55 pm:

i’d go if it didn’t cost just to get in. stupid.

  3. alec baldwin wrote on March 17th, 2010 at 8:04 pm:

Oh my gosh $10 to get in. I’m sure that’s all profit, straight to the Gnome’s pockets (those little guys have deep pockets, don’t be fooled). There’s no overhead costs for this thing I’m sure. It all just magically happens in Happy Gnome Land.

Hey Alec Baldwin make sure Stephen gets some because he’s the weakest!

Actually, I agree with you. I just wanted to make an American Boy reference.

These things aren’t cheap to put together – I’m not really sure what all of the ‘Gnome’s costs are, though I know that renting a large tent through Aarcee is fairly expensive not to mention tables, beer, advertising, glassware, licenses & permits, security, staff, etc., etc. I’m not saying they’re losing money doing this, but I don’t think $10 is so bad. ABR is what, $40? $40 at Firkin Fest gets you in and buys you 30 samples of cask-conditioned beer. I don’t know… I don’t think it’s so bad.

Curse you Ryan with your logic and math skills! And before anyone jumps in to correct you, ABR is $30, but that would still get you in to Firkin Fest and allow you to buy 20 samples (which is *still* a lot of beer-that’s 80 ounces, 6 ounces more than a six pack!)

  7. David Berg wrote on March 18th, 2010 at 5:24 am:

    Make that 8 ounces more…

  8. Trav wrote on March 18th, 2010 at 6:04 am:

Ill be there pouring, but im not entirely sure anyone is bringing enough casks to last for an EIGHT HOUR BEERFEST! Good lord.

I had a blast last year.

  11. Beerfan wrote on March 18th, 2010 at 11:05 am:

It’s a great time with great beer. At a $1 a 4 oz pour it works out to $4 a pint. Where can you get a $4 pint?

If it’s about all-you-can-drink and getting pig-fucking drunk, why don’t you cheap bastards switch to some shitty iced malt liquor.

  12. Beerfan wrote on March 18th, 2010 at 11:06 am:

And, seriously, how many double IPAs and RISes do you need?

  13. alan baldwing wrote on March 18th, 2010 at 11:30 am:

if i go to this i’m going to make sure to wear my beard and sunglasses. because that tent can’t keep out the sun well enough

  14. ryan wrote on March 18th, 2010 at 11:33 am:

Beerfan – I hear you… Not a single bitter in the list… bummer. Of course I’d rather just have it by the pint, but still…

  15. Beerfan wrote on March 18th, 2010 at 11:39 am:

Thank you, Surly, for the mild! ;-)

  16. Mag wrote on March 18th, 2010 at 1:39 pm:

No band this year! Woot! I had a blast last year and plan on having a blast again this year. So there.

The Baldwing brothers always were a gaggle of pansy wankers.

Anyone know who’s firkins blew frist? Just wondering how things went, as I was unable to attend.

  20. alan baldwing wrote on March 20th, 2010 at 8:32 pm:

this sucked almost as much as last year. the only goo part was the lack of shitty music. other than that, the darkness tasted like corn syrup with hops, and all the other over hyped beers tasted mediocre at best. shaken firkins full of haze and a crowd of drunken nobodys

  21. Chad wrote on March 20th, 2010 at 10:12 pm:

    Alan–

Were you promised Beyonce? Why go back if you had such a terrible fucking time last year?

  22. alan baldwing wrote on March 20th, 2010 at 10:16 pm:

i like second chances and hoping brandon gets kicked out again for being a fucking moron.

  23. Chad wrote on March 20th, 2010 at 10:20 pm:

    Isn’t the latter a given?

  24. alan baldwing wrote on March 20th, 2010 at 10:23 pm:

    good point….
but it’s still a coin toss if he’ll make a SUPER huge ass of himself

  25. Frank wrote on March 21st, 2010 at 9:26 am:

Hopslam kicked first, followed soon after by Darkness. Everything else was still going at 6 when I left.

“And, seriously, how many double IPAs and RISes do you need?” The answer to this question is, of course, more. Many more.

  26. incider man wrote on March 22nd, 2010 at 8:37 am:

Frank just wanted to say thanks for that bit of info. I hope everyone had a great time. Cheers
