Those of you with Twitter and/or Facebook or who lurk on BeerAdvocate, may have already seen Al’s announcement about events for Blue Nile’s 20th Anniversary.  But for the rest of you who avoid the seemier side of social networking (hee hee hee), here’s the scoop (from Al’s BA post).

Blue Nile 20th Anniversary, month of Beer Events

Greetings, everyone. October, 2009 marks the 20th anniversary since the founding of the original Blue Nile restaurant at Lake and Lyndale (we’ve spent the past 13 years at the current location). It’s also the 10th year that I’ve been running the bar here, and to celebrate these milestones, we’re doing not one, not two, but 4 beer events, the final 4 weekends in October.
Next Weekend, October 9, 10, & 11 is “Drink Local”, with all Minnesota beers, featuring Surly Wet, Flat Earth Mummy Train & Black Helicopter, August Schell 1905 VT, and more from Summit and others.
October 16, 17, 18 is Part Two of Battle of the Belg, with some of the Belgian brews returning from Part 1, as well as some brand new ones, new styles, etc.
October 23, 24, & 25 is Hop Heads Only Redux, all IPAs and hoppy brews on tap.
October 30, 31, & November 1 is the return of “Ale Saint’s Day.” But of course, it won’t be called that, because it’s also on Halloween and Halloween Eve. All stouts and porters on tap, including Darkness 2008 and 2009, aged Expedition, Sinebrychoff Porter, Nogne-o Porter, and more.
Much of the details of the line-ups for these beer-stravangas are still being worked out, so stay tuned. We’ll get some firkins, for sure, but as yet, their identities are unknown. Check back for more info!
Cheers,
al
