Surly Draft Truck @Stub & Herb’s | MNBeer – Beer from the Twin Cities, Minnesota, Minneapolis, St. Paul and beyond

Surly Draft Truck @Stub & Herb’s

July 29, 2009
5:00 pmto7:00 pm

Wednesday, July 29th – debut of the Surly Draft Truck. Will be seen at all Gopher Home Football games, SurlyFest, select Vikings games (Green Bay – Monday night), Darkness Day, our parking lot, your neighborhood party.
See the draft truck in action Wednesday night at Stub & Herbs Bar at the U of MN. We are testing out its pouring capabilities. To entice you to come out, when you buy a Surly Beer for $5, you get a cheeseburger off the backyard grill. Hell Yeah, put that on the board. This deal lasts from 5-7 PM. Also, you can talk shit to Jon about his Southside White Sox. The bar manager – Jon – one of the first guys to puor our beer, likes the Sox. Stub & Herbs will also be raffling off a pair of Twins tickets. While that is going on, pick your favorite state brew, MN beers vs IL beers.

The idea of this thing at Gopher football games just made my day. As much as I love baseball, college football outside in the fall with a Surly in my hand can’t be beat.

A quick note of clarification, they won’t be AT Gopher games precisely, but Stub & Herb’s for Gopher games, which will be the closest place to the new stadium to get a beer. And not just a beer, but a good beer.

Gonna try to stop on at Stub’s before heading up north for the weekend tonight.

So what does the trailer run price wise for a neighborhood party….that would be awesome.

Gotta imagine the alcohol license one would have to acquire for their party would be pretty spendy.

Andy, what say you we find plot of land to purchase, secede from the U.S., and then hire the Surly Wagon for a nationhood party instead?

  7. Ben wrote on July 29th, 2009 at 3:23 pm:

Secede from the US? It sure seemed to work well for the South right?

With that kind of negativity, don’t expect to have your visa approved when you try to visit us. We’ll be as mysterious and cloistered as North Korea. Just you wait.

I’d say secession worked pretty well for Peter Griffin!

OK Jason. You can join us if we can call it something other than Petoria.

So was #3 actually Brau Scotch Ale? I had to leave early so one of the bartenders told me what they were but this one shocked me.
