It’s great that they moved it to a bigger location this year, but the least they could do is have the website up and running if they’re selling tickets right now. I’d like to know if what breweries are going to be there before I decide if I want to drop $25.

The previous city pages beer festivals have been a college-style-chug-fest. Not that there is anything wrong with that…just putting the information out there.

Yeah it always has been. The upside is that all the college kids stick to the Budweiser booths and stay away from the couple craft brewers there.

Hasn’t it poured rain on this event the last 2 years?

You are correct, Ben. Last year it even hailed and HARD.

Ouch. Skipped it the past 2 years. Was outta town last year and the year before we saw the dark clouds as we were driving there and decided to goto a brewpub instead. This is the fest that first gave us Coffee Bender.

SingleOutings.com’s 3 different age groups are going to this event. Hopefully, they’ll all find their different niche of beer and peers! Looking forward to the new venue.

Just heard you can get discounted tickets if you buy before May 1. Go to their website http://www.citypages.com/beerfest and type in ‘downtown’ to get $2 off the $25 ticket. Not bad deal. Site says they have White Iron Band playing too which kicks!

way too many drunk frat boys for it to be fun.

Hmmm… where is the actual list of brewers in attendance?

I can’t picture where this fest is going to be held “near 10th & Hennepin” unless they block off streets. Can you imagine how packed Rock Bottom (and MacKenzie) are going to be afterwards?

  12. Chad wrote on May 4th, 2009 at 2:58 pm:

How can you not picture it? There’s a huge surface paylot right on hennepin/10th, and there’s also a huge empty lot where the Ramada stood up until last year. I’d hope they would use of of those instead of blocking off a street.

  13. Rob wrote on May 11th, 2009 at 2:32 pm:

It’s on the surface lot where the Ramada Hotel was based on the website. Should be great spot. Twice the space and close parking too – easier than Uptown.

Last year was a blast, I got welts from the hail. I remember the vendors just pouring everyone full beers after the hail becuase they felt bad. I was hoping it would be in uptown again (becuase I live there) but Henn. and 10th isn’t far either.

Buy your tickets before May 23rd and get $2 off the $25 general admission ticket by entering the promo code “insider”.

  16. Nick wrote on May 26th, 2009 at 12:56 pm:

Anyone know how much a beer costs at this event?

  17. Rob wrote on May 26th, 2009 at 2:37 pm:

All of the beer is FREE for the $25 price. But they only pour 2 oz. samples at one time. Looks like they also have a VIP ticket this year with food included for $45. It’s on the website http://www.citypages.com/beerfest

  18. bond wrote on May 29th, 2009 at 11:32 am:

Five samples is almost a full beer. So good times are too be had
