Thanks Rett | MNBeer – Beer from the Twin Cities, Minnesota, Minneapolis, St. Paul and beyond

Thanks Rett

City Pages asked Rett Martin of Brew52 5 Questions. Rett was kind enough to give us a big nod. Thanks!

If you were going to advise someone new to the Twin Cities about local breweries and local pubs, where would you send them, and what kind of beers would you suggest that they drink?

Well if they were going to be here for a while I’d tell them to try it all. There are so many good beers brewed here. But let’s say they were here for just one night, the first thing I’d do is check out MNBeer.com to see if there were any special beer releases. If not, I’d have them chug a Grainbelt Premium (come on, you have to) and bike over to Town Hall for their IPA. Man that would be a good time.

    Premium?

@Andrew – I knew the Premium comment would raise some eyebrows, but I stand by it 100%. You have to try it at least once. And by try it I mean chug it from a can.

Too many allegedly knowledgable beer fans disdain a good seesion beer, like Premium, for the big or extreme beers.

I’d rather quaff several well-balanced and enjoyable beers than one “edgy” beer.

I’ve had Premium many times, but never chugged from a can.
Do I have to go to the back of the class?

Wait a second, Snowstorm was supposed to be a Vienna this year? I wish someone would have told me…

Good to see a little Fergus Falls love going on.
