Welcome to the Blue Door | MNBeer - Beer from the Twin Cities, Minnesota, Minneapolis, St. Paul and beyond

Welcome to the Blue Door

The Blue Door Pub is now open! Well, it has been for a couple weeks, but we’ve just added them to the Mn Taps list (on your right…). They boast an impressive tap list with a bunch of Minnesota-brewed options, and already have plans to expand their bottled beer selection. The three times I’ve been there, it’s been steadily busy, yet the staff was able to stay on top of it with a smile. Oh, did I mention Juicy Lucys? They got ‘em….if it can fit in a burger, then you’ll find it at the Blue Door.

*Edit* How could I forget their amazing happy hour?! 3pm - 6pm and 10pm - close, $2 pints and $8 pitchers.

I was there last week and really enjoyed it. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw my bill with $2 Happy Hour Pints! That’s right, Cynics and Two Hearted’s for $2 from 3-6 and 10-close.

Nice bar, but it’s the loudest place I’ve ever been in (which is amazing considering how small it is). I literally had to shout my orders to the poor waitress, and conversation was impossible.

These guys have to do some sound dampening, or I’ll have to cross this place off my short list of beer bars. Too bad.

When they expand next door and open a patio, that should help things….

Anyone have a tap list? This is just off my route home so would make for a nice happy hour.

I love the BDP! Great beers, I never had a Lift Bridge until the Blue Door now I’m hooked. It does get a little loud but it creates that feeling of a neighborhood pub. Great burgers and great beer what else do you want!
