I think the “best of show” award is silly. How can anyone say that a certain beer at an event like this is the best ? I mean, look at all the different styles. You are comparing apples to oranges. The award is meaningless in my view. The reason Surly won is that they have a following, call them Surly Sheep if you wish, and they stuff the ballot box and Surly wins. It all comes down to personal taste, that’s the bottom line.

Congrats to Omar and all of the great people at Surly. It was a “GREAT” event and I look forward to being there next year.

Where is the outrage that Town Hall won the “best of show” at Winterfest with the Chocolate Raspberry stuff? How does that compare to the other beer? Is it pandering to people who don’t even like beer? Is that even beer?

Jokes aside…Surly fans sure take a beating for loving Surly beer and being vocal about it. Suggesting a “Surly conspiracy” is too much. Take a few deep breaths Cecil.

We are all but cogs in the Surly Hype Machine.

    “We get it”

I don’t know about Surly Sheep. I’d prefer Surly Zombie. That’d really send a message to those idiots.

You know, I think I want Surly Zombie…I’d imagine a nice black lager with a bit of golden treacle to up the ABV and thin the body a little.

    Surly Brewer…get to it!
