Who’s going to Great Taste?

Dawn and I are taking Friday off of work and rolling into Madison sometime during the day. I think we’re going to visit Leinenkugel’s on our way (as we’ve both never been there) and then spend the rest of the day in Madison. We don’t have any hard-set plans, though I’d like to venture over to the Great Dane at one point or another. We’re staying at the Sheraton near the event.

In any case, dear readers, who else is going? Where are you staying?

    I’m going. Trying to hit up Maduro, Brasserie V, Great Dane, Alchemy and maybe …who knows?

    We plan to get into town Midday on Friday too. Make sure you schedule time to stop by Maduro after your Great Dane stop to drink the 20 Bell’s taps they will have available.

    Look for the guy walking around wearing the beermapping.com shirt!

    I’ll be heading out Thursday with a buddy. We’ll hit some breweries/brewpubs in central WI (Marshfield, Wausau, Point, Plover), stay with my brother that night, then head to Mad-town on Friday. Last year we drove out to Tyranena in Lake Mills which was fun and also hit Grumpy Troll in Mt. Horeb. Highly recommend both places. Maduro is fun with all the Bell’s taps, but it can be a bit crowded so don’t know if we’ll do that this year or not. I’ve read there are some new good beer bars that have opened in Madison recently, so may have to search those out.

    Mag and I will be leaving with Kat and Scott Friday morning. I think we’re having lunch at Ale Asylum and then finishing up the night at Capital’s Bier Garten as our Friday night hotel is nearly within walking distance. Not sure what will happen between AA and Capital.

    Dan & Deb of Vine Park are heading over on Friday. We may hit Leine’s (never been there either) or else swing over to New Glarus to check out the new brewery.

    Our traditional game plan is to head over to Capital Brewing’s bier garten on Friday evening and then swing over to the Great Dane for the brewer’s party.

    Saturday night we usually head over to the Essen House or bar hop downtown.
