Schell’s 1867 Munich Dunkel release | MNBeer – Beer from the Twin Cities, Minnesota, Minneapolis, St. Paul and beyond

Schell’s 1867 Munich Dunkel release

May 2, 2008

Ooh! Another 150th Anniversary Draft Series release from Schell’s this weekend. It is a Munich Dunkel based on a recipe from 1867. The beer is a deep copper color with a reddish tint. Medium bodied, rich and malty, with hints of vanilla and chocolate. The beer is in honor of George Marti, who was the 3rd president of Schell’s (1911-1934), and was born on May 4th, 1856. They will be kicking off the celebrations by hosting a release party at the Side Street Pub in Fargo, Friday, May 2nd. They’ll be hosting many more events – visit their website for more information.

Thanks Jace!

Looks to be another tasty beer. I hope some of these get enough positive feedback to make Schells consider bottling them seasonally. :-)
