Lakemaid Beer

Have I mentioned this yet? Perhaps not. In any case, Schell’s and Rapala have teamed up to co-brand a beer for the fishing opener, Lakemaid Beer. Here’s a piece about the beer in the New Ulm Journal. Check out the Lakemaid website as well. Definitely a bit campy, but funny as well.

“Half woman and half walleye,  every sportsman’s dream come true…”

If that’s not enough for you, you can meet the 12 lakemaids, like Miss Northern, Miss Sunfish, etc.

Nothing wrong with the Miss Lakemaids…..there is a lake in my hometown that probably could breed some woman/fish like that.

I watched the darn underwater webcam for a half an hour and didn’t see any Lakemaids. I feel cheated.

I’m disappointed that there isn’t a Miss Eelpout.

On the other hand, i’m ecstatic that there is no Miss Carp!

I think that underwater cam is there for the hard-core Rapala crowd, who would probably get annoyed if some fish-lady blocked the view of the fish.

That lake is about as clear as my gold fish tank.

This beer is really good. My brother came up to Duluth a few weekends ago and brought this beer. He didn’t say anything about the beer, but said “Does anyone want to go fishing”? He then proceeded to give us each a Lakemaid and ask for a donation of $3.00. He then explained that who ever got the biggest fish, by looking under the bottle caps, would win the money. We totaled up the weights of our fish at the end and my sister won. It was a blast!
