Surly in Up North!

Hello Surly Nation,
Hope the summer is treating everyone well, we have been pretty busy here at
Surly.
Our fine beers will soon be available in Duluth and the North Shore! You
should be able to find our beers starting this week in Duluth and
surrounding areas in Minnesota. Keep checking up on the web site –
www.surlybrewing.com – to see the latest bars that are carrying our fine
ales. Also, keep checking in to see the latest news about a Duluth pub-crawl
with Surly. It should happen in the next couple weeks. For Surly Nation in
Duluth, make sure to ask for Surly at your favorite bar/restaurant!
We had a great time in Boston at Beer Advocate’s American Beer Festival. The
Linwood Grill in Boston is the first bar outside of Minnesota to pour our
beer! It will be on tap there for a limited time.
Our next tour is quickly approaching. Friday, June 30th, from 6:00-7:30. A
tour and tasting will happen. If you are interested, please email us your
contact info and how many people are attending. You need a confirmation to
attend the tour!
Our first beer & food pairing is coming up in a couple weeks. Todd and Omar
will be at the Craftsman Restaurant for a beer and cheese tasting. The event
goes from 5:00 to 7:00pm. There is a $15 prefix at the door. Call The
Craftsman at 612-722-0175 to reserve. We encourage people to stick around
and follow up the tasting with dinner.
We have a kick-ass new feature on the web-site. On the home page, we have a
link to a google maps site that shows the location of all the bars we are
served at. Take a look to see where you can GET SURLY!
One more thing, Surly beers go great with pizza. Check out the 2 newest
Surly establishnments: Pizza Luce – Seward, Punch Pizza – Eden Prairie.
See you drinking,
Omar

Town Hall Beer Release 6/28

Hey All,
This coming Wednesday (6/28) we will release another beer, look for Palisade Golden Pale Ale. This beer carries the name Palisade Golden for a few reasons.
First,it’smade with only American Palisade hops. Those of you that like to get up to the North Shore will understand the other reason. Stop at Palisade Head just before sunset and watch the water glisten shades of gold as the sun sets before you…what a nice thought.
Stop by and enjoy a beer this Wednesday… Release is at 5:00

Rumor Mill… New Holland Brewing coming to MN?

From fellow homebrewer and all around good guy Wayne Teuer is some rumors of New Holland beers coming to MN. I have not verified this information, but Wayne is generally a reliable source.

Just a quick note to inform you that by mid to late July, New Holland Brewing Company’s beers will be available in the metro area. For those that don’t know, John Haggerty is the head brewer at New Holland Brewing Company in Holland, Michigan. John was the head brewer at Town Hall before Mike took over. John went to MN Brewing and then to Berlin, Germany where he attended and graduated from brewing school before taking over the helm at New Holland Brewing Company.

From what I understand, Howenstein will be the distributor. The beers will be available in mid to late July. NHBC has some great beers and now we can get them!! Attached is a list of what will be available.

Can someone put this on the different club lists for me? I think this is very news worthy. A Minnesota boy finally comes home!!

Cheers,
Wayne
